{Blog Tour} Holiday Affair: An Interview With Annie Seaton PLUS #Giveaway!

Hi all,

I’m very happy to be a part of Annie Seaton’s blog tour for her Entangled Indulgence romance, Holiday Affair–especially as I happen to have one Ms Seaton on the blog today answering some Q’s. But before we get to those, let’s take a quick gander at the title in question.

Staid professor Lissy McIntyre believes that choosing a mate should be based on common sense, not runaway passion. And she would certainly never pick a rolling stone like Nick Richards for long-term love. But a red-hot, tropical romance? Oh, yeah. He’s got a body just made for sinning and his sizzling kisses leave her senseless.

When Nick blows into town, he’s stunned to discover that his no-nonsense new neighbor and co-worker is the same sultry creature he seduced for one night of forbidden island pleasure. He’s unaccustomed to staying in one place for long, but he just can’t seem to keep his hands off the multi-faceted woman. Will Nick break loyal Lissy’s heart or will she be the one woman he simply can’t walk away from?

Can’t deny it sounds romantic, right? So let’s meet the lady herself:

Annie, if you were to write yourself into this book, what kind of role would you play in it?

I would love to be Lissy’s friend and go out with them on the girls’ night out when she has a little too much champagne. I think it would be fun to see her loosen up as she is usually so reserved.

Yeah, a little champagne works wonders for loosening up. ;)

Which character from your story would you most like to meet?

Nick would be my choice. I imagined Nick being a cross between Johnny Depp when he was on the yacht with his pirate swagger, and Colin Firth when he was suited up as a university professor. A perfect combination to my mind!

I’m squinting here trying to merge Jack Sparrow with Colin Firth … so attitude, sexiness & arrogance in a suit, eh?

Are you working on another title at the moment? Can you tell us about it?

I am currently working on the other two books in the Affair series.  These books follow the search for happily-ever-after by Nick’s brothers—Tom who buys a marina and finds love on an Italian island— and  Alex who is in the outback of Northern Australia and owns an exclusive resort. Both of them meet two very different women. You will have to read the stories to experience the highs and lows of their paths to love in two exotic locations.

Love when a series carries on with linked characters.

If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would love to visit the Bahamas. I have a love affair with the sea and the white sands and sapphire blue waters of the Caribbean have beckoned me for many years. I am currently writing a romantic suspense set in a marina on one of the islands. One day I will visit!

Being in England, the Bahamas is preeeeeeetty far away, but it certainly looks and sounds idyllic.

Have you ever read a book more than once? If so, what was it?

Katherine was written by Anya Seton in 1954. It is a fictional account of the true story of Katherine de Roet who became the mistress and then wife of John of Gaunt  and the ancestress of the Tudor kings of England. I absolutely love it –it really brings the period alive for me and I reread it every couple of years.

A historical fan? :)

And onto a bit of randomness:

Favourite spot to write?

I sit in my writing chair overlooking the Pacific Ocean. I am very lucky, when the muse deserts me; I go for a walk on the beach.

Wow! Sounds like an amazing view.

What book(s) are you reading now?

Crazy Love by Nicola Marsh. I love Nicola’s books.

Haven’t heard of Nicola Marsh, but I’ll be sure to check her out.

Paranormal or dystopia—which do you prefer?

Paranormal.  My novella Blind Lust about a witch, a warlock and a country and western singer is one of my favourites

:)

Pizza toppings: the entire works … or the plainer the better?

The absolute works with double anchovies!

O_O

Cats or dogs?

Both… but cats have the edge. Boy cat and Girl Cat and Bob the Dog are an important part of our household!

Yeah, mine tend to play a big part, too. :)

And finally … in no more than three sentences, tell us why we should read your story? What about it will grip us by the shirt scruffs and drag us along for the ride?

The chemistry between Nick and Lissy is electric. They have a love/hate relationship where they each fight the sizzling attraction to the other but it is one of those ‘can’t take my eyes, hands or any other body part off you’ type attraction! The battle is on between intellect and hot sexual attraction and the battle that plays out between them is a rollercoaster ride of emotions.

So, are you sold yet? Who can say no to sizzling chemistry and emotional rollercoasters? If it sounds like your cup of tea, you can add it to your Goodreads list by clicking on the cover image.

And if you want to stalk Annie to be sure you know exactly when those brothers’ books are gonna hit the shelves, you can do so at her Blog | Twitter | Facebook | & Goodreads.

Showcase Sunday #7

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky @ Books, Biscuits & Tea. The aim of this event is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week. For more information about how this feature works and how to join in, click here.

I’ve had a great week this week. Whilst I didn’t exactly go mad in the buying department, or in the review-request department, what I did get is pretty awesome.

Here there are:

BOUGHT:

This one was FREE! So, of course, I nabbed a copy coz the blurb sounds fun (even if the cover isn’t quite my cup of tea)

And remember that £10 Amazon voucher I was gifted with? Well, I did initially want to get the 1st Immortal Instruments (coz I haven’t read any of them), but turned out Amazon didn’t do the nice new pretty cover, only the slightly fugly old one. :( And I didn’t want that on my shelf–so I’ve decided to wait until the new cover’s available.

Instead, I added £1.61 of my own pence to the gift voucher and nabbed:

The Perfect Play by Jaci Burton. DUDE, this cover is enough to make a girl salivate. It’s very shiny, too. I’ve stroked it. A LOT! ;)

Partials by Dan Wells. This one has come highly recommended and I got it dirt cheap for £3-something. Another shiny, pretty cover. The book’s way thicker than I expected, though. :)

WON/GIFTED:

I’ve gotta say, the kindness amongst the book blogging community never ever fails to wow me. Since I’ve been blogging here (and on Goodreads prior to starting the blog), I’ve had books posted to me for loan, books I’ve really wanted purchased for me as gifts, and now I’ve had an extraneous copy of a book I really needed (coz we always need the book, it’s never a simple want, right?) to get and wouldn’t have been able to for a little while.

So, to Natalie Cleary, a HUGE thanks for sending me:

Storm by Brigid Kemmerer (another perdy cover)
:)

And, OF COURSE, I mustn’t forget one of the highlights of my week. Another act of total generosity. The pure awesome Rebecca Hart (author of Call of the Sea as well as reviewer over at Bex Book Nook) booked herself a day at BEA. AND, because she knew how much I luuurve Jennifer L. Armentrout, she took her own copy of Obsidian along and got Jen to sign it to ME!

Lookie:

All I had to do was replace Becca’s copy. MAJOR win! Huge thanks to Ms Hart!

Lastly, for blogging to help promote their new Dead Sexy imprint, Entangled gifted me with a copy of:

I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about Diane Alberts, so I’m looking forward to delving into this one and checking her writing out.

Cheers for this, Misa.

And finally onto …

FOR REVIEW:

From Entangled via NetGalley (thankee), so I’m looking forward to it. :)

:)

And that’s it. I think.

What’s in your Showcase Sunday this week?

Oh, and I changed the colours & header of the blog. Whatcha think?

:)

In My Mailbox (4) #IMM

In my mailbox is a meme created by Kristi at The Story Siren and inspired by Alea at Pop Culture Junkie. It is a list of what books you have received over the previous week, either for review, from the library, from the bookstore, or from trades.

Hi guys, and welcome to another Sunday. Had a decent week this week. Received a couple titles I wanted for review, bought a couple bargain titles in the Amazon Spring sale, and got sent some awesome bookish swag from Spencer Hill Press as well as a cute couple bits that I won.

So here you go. In My Mailbox are …

BOUGHT:

This one seems to be all over the ‘Net at the mo with all the Goddess Interrupted reviews going live so I thought it about time I checked it out. :)

Love the cover on this one.

WON:

This I won from BelleBooks Charms FB page. How cute is it? At the moment, it’s a debate whether I’ll get to keep it myself as my daughter has her eye on it. :)

My nomilicious page muncher I won from Jen at LRAt Random. It’s seriously cute. :)

FREE SWAG:

I had to take the Spencer Hill Press swag in two pics because I couldn’t fit them all in one. In the top pic, there are 6 bookmarks, 2 info cards, 1 sticker and the 2 little thingies you can see are Elemental temp tattoos. Awesome, no? :)

And in the below pic is a Touch of Death bookmark (so pretty), Pure and Deity bookmarks (cue: pee my pants in excitement), a Deity Island bumper sticker (giggle) and a Pure plectrum (coooooool). :)

And last but not least

FROM PUBLISHERS/FOR REVIEW:

Currently reading this one. :)

All received via NetGalley. Hopefully, I’ll get to these over the next couple of weeks.

How about you guys? What’s in your mailbox this week?
